Veronica is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) providing individual and family therapy in Washington, DC. She creates a welcoming and safe environment that facilitates exploration of the story of your life as you work through difficult emotions such as anxiety, shame and fear that may come with the decision to evolve and heal. She has experience working with individuals including adults and adolescents, children, and families in a wide range of settings such as schools, hospitals, university centers and residential treatment programs.
She received her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a specialist degree in Education from University of Florida. She trained in the University of Florida SHANDS Hospital working with individuals struggling with trauma, identity issues, depression, anxiety, and intrapersonal conflict. She also trained at a leading eating disorder treatment center – Oak House at the Refuge in Ocala, FL where she ran therapy groups and individual sessions to help residents overcome their eating disorder. In 2021, Veronica moved to the Washington, D.C. area where she currently works at the District of Columbia Public Schools. In the schools, she works with children and their families, and continues to advocate for underserved populations.
Veronica was born in Venezuela and came to the United States in 2009. She approaches the therapeutic relationship from a multicultural lens and offers psychotherapy in English and Spanish to diverse populations such as immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals and trauma survivors. Veronica strongly believes that by creating a non-shaming, judgement-free environment you can work through some of the backstory and move through it in a way that allows you to create the life you really want.
