Thania Orozco, LMSW, earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, specializing in Families and Children. She has over three years of experience supporting children and families in the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) system. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and play therapy. Thania has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in supporting them with coping with the emotional and psychological effects of environmental changes and navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges.
Thania brings compassion, dedication, and clinical expertise to her therapeutic work. She believes in building strong, trusting relationships with clients and families and is known for her caring nature, strong work ethic, and ability to create a safe space for healing and growth.
Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, this experience allows Thania to create a comfortable and relatable therapeutic environment where clients feel safe exploring their challenges. Thania is the daughter of two immigrants from Central America (Costa Rica and Nicaragua) and is fluent in English and Spanish. Thania is committed to providing culturally competent care.
